In his universe superheroes are a very real thing. Everywhere he looked, there they were: radio, television, books, movies. For a long time, he was a fan.At a young age, his mother vanished, leaving Hughie to think she had abandoned him. Not only did he suffer from her absence, but his father also. Hugh Sr. fell into depression and stayed there. Watching his father waste his life in front of the television set led Hughie to see his father as a failure.Growing up, he loved electronics, gadgets, anything tech. This led him to become a salesman at an audio visual store as an adult. Not long after, Hughie met Robin. They fell in love and on the day they were planning to move in together, an accident changed their lives for ever. A-Train, the beloved superhero who claimed to be the fastest man on earth, ran straight through Robin. Her body exploded, leaving only her hands behind; hands that Hughie was holding while drenched in her blood. After the initial shock wore off, Hughie wanted revenge. And as luck would have it, William Butcher came into his life.
